I don't know what creature's howling like that, but it began howling again as I hauled and stacked wood rounds in the evening, so got my camera and recorded some of it. Prior to getting the camera, the thing howled for at least five minutes. What kind of animal is that? A wolf? A Forest Person? Or something else? Go to the 2:30 mark in this video to hear the thing howling last year at the cabin...

      If it's a lot of frozen food and you have an electrical outlet to use traveling, perhaps a small freezer would do. If not, dry ice keeps things cold for a longer time, and donate the excess to dog shelters.

    Now I'd like to see an old gal fix a leak in that same log splitter, after it stopped retracting, and oil pooled around the garage! 😂 This old gal just tried to fix hers, refilled the oil, got the hydraulic pole retracted, it's still leaking. I have a suspicion, after watching several UA-cam videos, that it is an O-ring issue somewhere within a piston but there's no way I have the skills to address that. Totally bummed out! And no matter how much finagling I did, including copying some very helpful man on UA-cam talked about using the top of a hammer and a thin screwdriver to get the plug back in, I still cannot get it back in. I don't want to feel like a useless old gal ... but feeling a little that way.😢

    • @DesertRatGardener
      @DesertRatGardener 17 днів тому

      Hi! Mine leaked too, after a good while of use. Initially, I lived with the leak, topping up on jack oil. But finally, like you, it stopped retracting. And yes, that plug is hard to get back in. What I did was take a pair of pliers and shoved that plug back into the hole while simultaneously using a screwdriver to push it in on the sides. But that eventually destroyed the plug. Here's what I did next, I hope it works for you too. Order off of Amazon a package of Welwik 20 piece, 8.5 mm floor bottle jack flathead plugs. They don't look like the plugs that came with the splitter. But they fit! Perfectly. I don't have to struggle to get it back in. You won't either. I put it in with my bare hands, and it fits. Before I put the new plug in (the extras I'll keep in case I ever need them), I drained out all the jack oil (wasn't much left anyway in there, thanks to leaking and my not refilling after I broke the plug.) Then I refilled it with bottle jack leak stopper, and new oil. I did not fill it all the way to the top, but put in a bit more than half to almost 3/4ths full. Then I cleaned off all the springs and area down there that gets so dirty thanks to leaking oil. Then I did a few dry runs of working the handles to send the jack all the way out, then retracting back all the way in. Did that twice. Thus far, it's not leaking again and is working great. I keep the splitter upended upright when not in use. I hope this fixes your leak. Getting these plugs will make life so much easier too. Here's the ones I bought www.amazon.com/dp/B09Q8BWW3T

Even though the fires are burning, this Monday they open Ruidoso to full time residents, with stipulations that water should be boiled, bring two weeks of groceries and water, electricity may be out. I really liked Rusty's video today driving through there. The parts destroyed are heartbreaking. Yet so much of Ruidoso they saved. Amazing. Fire restrictions remain. The Lincoln National Forest, Cloudcroft and Ruidoso have all enacted new fire restrictions, effective immediately. The LNF is now in Level 2 Fire Restrictions. Cloudcroft and Ruidoso's fire rules forbid open flames, including smoking outdoors, using two cycle gas engines, campfires and grilling. Video explains. The Sacramento Mountains are very dry with very high fire danger. Please do all you can to protect this heaven on earth. Yesterday a man driving between Cloudcroft and Mayhill blew a tire on his towed trailer. He felt something was wrong, but kept on driving, assuming his tire was flat. It was not flat. It had blown off. His wheel rim was in contact with the highway as he drove, setting off sparks that ignited two forest fires along Highway 82, one near Robin Hood, one near the 16 Springs Canyon turnoff. Local volunteer firefighters immediately responded and fought both fires, extinguishing them quickly. If you're driving and feel something's not right, please pull over onto bare gravel and investigate. Please note: the Lincoln National Forest enacted Level 2 Fire Restrictions. *Some people* piped up asking if they can they have charcoal grilling on private property? Gee whiz. One is informed by authorities of the very dry forest, of the fires that are being fought, are told the national forest now has fire restrictions, yet *some people* asked about doing what's restricted in the forest on private property? Due to this sort of entitlement and incomprehension of the fire danger, both Ruidoso and Cloudcroft villages have enacted strict fire rules covering anywhere in those villages, including private property. Details in the video. Let's keep our Heaven On Earth safe while it is so dry, and getting drier. The rainy season should come sometime in July.

    Possibly a Mexican wolf.

      Perhaps. I'm not an expert. To me it looks too small to be a wolf. Instead it looks like a coyote, to me. I'm hoping the big animal that was behind the cabin in early morning daylight that Saturday, that looks exactly like what I found online, a grey wolf, will return and be photographed by the trail camera.

    Interesting it does look like a coyote from the tall end. A healthy one.

      Looks like a coyote to me as well, Nikki. This animal is not as big as the one behind the cabin. I hope the animal behind the cabin returns where I can get a pic. After tonight, I'm moving the trail cam to focus more on the forest in back, near Buddy's grave. I'll also upload all the animals this caught coming to his grave in the last 11 days. This shot is the only time any animal looking at all like a coyote or wolf came. By the way, when you come up to camp, they started Level 2 fire restrictions for the Lincoln National Forest today. No smoking outdoors, no campfires, no charcoal grills (no chainsawing, etc).

    After seeing that grey wolf and Buddy's grave disturbance (detailed in a previous video), I put a trail camera on his grave. A number of animals have been caught by the trail cam over the last 11 days. This animal is not as large as the grey wolf I saw in the early morning daylight behind the cabin. I think it is a coyote, but unsure, so what do you think? Previous video link - ua-cam.com/video/Is8oCCDTASQ/v-deo.htmlsi=RAvyqF449wAp0aY1 This is behind my mountain cabin atop the Sacramento Mountains with the Lincoln National Forest in back, a few miles from the tiny vacation village of Cloudcroft, New Mexico, 9000 feet high in the sky.

    - Be not DECEIVED, you're not born again if you walk in darkness. I.e willful sin. - Titus 2-11-15 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. By this we know that we know him - 1 John 3:6-10 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7 Little children, let no man DECEIVE you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. This is what it means to LOVE --1 John 5 King James Version. 5 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? Ephesians 5:2-11 kjv 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. - Peter 2:17-22 17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. 18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. - John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. - 2 Thessalonians 2:10-13 KJV And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth . - Woe, woe, woe to the inhabiters of the EARTH DO NOT take any so called disease vVaAxX/ mRNA /mark of the BEAST. - For it is the Abomination of Desolation giving seat to the antichrist in the temple of God. - Or do you not know DNA molecule is a CHERI right handed molecule. - World Health Organization is that serpent whom was given power to make war with the saints. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. BEWARE-------- Global Health and Peace Initiative treaty / Globle Digital Health Vaccine Certification ---------BEWARE - IT HAS ALREADY BEGUN - 1 Corinthians 3:17-18 King James Version (KJV) 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 18 Let no man DECEIVE himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. - 1 Thessalonians 5 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. - Can you be DECEIVED into taking the MARK of the beast ? = YES - Revelation 19:20 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he DECEIVED them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. - Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) - Revelation 13:14 - 14 And DECEIVETH them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. - Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

      Hi Square Vinyl (cute name). A great thing about Jesus' church is that the Magisterium teaches the correct interpretation of scripture. I gather you are not Catholic? If you are Catholic, please know that the Church has not, not, advised the interpretation of scripture in the manner you have interpreted it (with regard to vaccinations and the WHO.) That's one of the marvelous things about Jesus' church. He does not leave it to our own devices to figure out how to apply scripture to modern times. Doing that, there would be millions of interpretations, conflict and confusion. Rather, Jesus left us his church to guide us. The Magisterium, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, leads us. If you would like to follow Jesus through his church, please go to your nearest Catholic church and speak with a priest about it. Jesus is in every Catholic church, truly there, calling his sheep to him.

      @@DesertRatGardener I should make an apology, I said "says you" to this person because I was angry. I just hate that we (our Church) are bombarded with these kinds of comments regularly, and it sickens my mind

      I understand. No apology necessary. Because I was anti Catholic, before Jesus showed me that the Catholic church *is* his church, other anti Catholic statements don't get a visceral reaction out of me. I figure those compelled to comment with scripture want to follow Christ and were taught lies about Catholicsm. Jesus wants them to come closer to him, in his church. @Ticket7G
